Here's a number that stopped me in my tracks. According to a 2026 NewDay USA survey, only about 13 percent of eligible veterans have ever used their VA home loan benefit. Not 13 percent bought homes without it. Thirteen percent used the benefit they earned.

We have a huge veteran and active-duty population across MacDill, St. Pete, and the greater bay area. That's a lot of people who may qualify for a VA loan and don't know it, or assume the process is too complicated to bother with.
